No. I bought this bike from an ad on Kijiji. The seller neglected to mention the issue of the brake and I neglected to test ride it, so I feel I overpaid for the bike. However, the frame and rims have the nicest original paint of any of my vintage bikes. Brakes can be fixed, original paint cannot, so in the end I'm happy with it. The chrome is spectacular. The above photo doesn't do it justice. The tires are original and in great shape. I've been wondering if the red grips could be original for 1947. I know simiar grips in gold were available in 1951 so it's possible. I removed the basket and 1977 license plate. Also, I thought that seat looked too large for the bike - like a men's seat. So I put a smaller Dunlop saddle on it and it looks great. -Brian.
