HIGH WHEEL "PENNY FARTHING" BICYCLE FOR SALE.
Circa 1887 Rudge #3
Good backbone and fork. Seems solid integrity to the metal.
Stamped into head on blade of Backbone: RUDGE ~ No. 3
Serial N° 28156 - stamped into the Fork Blade
Rudge Patent Bearings of 1878 with oiler springs intact
Original Horn Grips.
Serrated Foot Step
Great appearance to curling rear fork blades.
Radial 60 Spoke 54" Front Wheel.
Likely never had a brake mechanism.
Incorrect rear wheel.
Saddle Spring possibly incorrect or broken
No Saddle
Incorrect Pedals (what is there is not functional)
6 Spokes detached at front wheel. 2 at Hub. 4 at Rim.
Overpainted Red & Silver. Likely originally Black with Nickel.
Will restore nicely to be a great Rider.
