Hello from the Virginia coal fields
Hello all,I found this site while trying to find information on a recent bike find (CCM,of all things,LOL),and thought it would be neat to join,as it looks like a decent group.
Anyways,Husband to one wife (soon to be ex),Dad to 2 kids,37,disabled vet (though my injuries/disability didn't come from militery service),drove a truck long haul from coast to coast after service (that's where they came from, the truck, and a co-driver who liked to sleep while driving, haha!),and now like I said,I'm "retired" (disabled).
I've been into bikes since a very young age, mountain biking since I was a teen in the 80's,and still do when time and injuries permit. Recently bought my first road bike, since road riding is easier on the spine than trail riding (OK...it's a cyclocrosser....so even my road bike has skinny little knobbies :p),and have recently sparked an interest in vintage bike finding, buying and fixing-up.
I'm super new to that,as well as wrenching on my own bikes,so I have lots to learn. Anyways,I had actually not heard of CCM bikes until I recently found/bought one in a flea market, but am finding they were quite popular and nice bikes...hope I can find more :)
Well,that's me in a nutshell,a complete bike nut :)
Steve
Welcome to the board, Steve. Being a Canadian bike I daresay CCMs were probably rare in your neck of the woods.
They must be in fact,I'd never heard of em,LOL! :p Thanks fo rthe welcome :)
