Have An Old CCM - 1930s?
Hello,
My first time posting in the forum. I have had my CCM for a while now and I have to say it is one of my favorite bikes. The paint is in excellent condition, looks like it was stored in a barn for its entire life. I am interested in knowing a bit more about it and I thought the experts in this forum may be able to help.
I did a basic search using google and had limited success. From what I know, everything is original except for the internal hub (which was replaced by a NOS Sturmey Archer hub). The odometer, speedometer, and light all work. Gibson pedals are in pretty good condition. Someone noted that the Brooks saddle on the bike may not be original.
Any help would be appreciated, the serial number (42957E) is posted in one of the pictures. Thanks in advance!
LJ
this bike is a 1953 model, not 30's.
:)
This bike looks fantastic for it's age, and looks to have a pile of really cool aftermarket goodies on it, but still period correct. Amazing Bike thanks very much for sharing, and welcome to the forum!!
Thank you for the feedback. If I decided that I want to sell the bike, any idea what a fair asking price would be?
Cheers
I'll let others better-informed answer your $ question.
What is the name on the speedo - Huret? Very nicely integrated with the Dynohub and headlight..
That is a very nice example of a 50's ccm... I would say it is worth around $200-300 give or take a little.. Some people like accessories and some don't.. Also depends on mechanical condition, which one would need to see it to tell..

The speedometer is a Halus. Tried to google the brand but nothing comes up.
@DJWC
Mechanical condition is in great shape, was recently tuned by a mechanic. If I do decide to sell I would be looking to sell locally (Calgary, Alberta) and so anyone interested could try it out. Thing is, the more I learn about it the more I want to keep it...
Many thanks JungenLuca. You should keep that cool bike.
Halus seems to have been a 1950's (European?) headlight manufacturer for dynamos, so it's interesting to know they branched out into integrated speedos. Here's a link I found:

cheers, Mink_Elan.
If the light and speedometer/odometer are functioning and the paint is indeed in good condition, the value of the bike is easily around $600 - $700 . Good luck with the sale (if you decide to sell)!
