1926 CCM Flyer

Hello all,

I am currently in the process of painting my 1926 CCM Flyer frame midnight blue.

I will pin-stripe the frame in gold.

I think I have the correct pin-striping scheme in mind but I need help with a few of the specifics.

1) I need the correct pinstriping scheme for the chain and seat stays (photos and dimensions will be very helpful)

2) I need the correct pin-striping scheme for the seat tube (photos and dimensions will be very helpful)

Any assistance anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Tony

Mmmmm looks nice.

Where did you get the wooden rims?

I finally got the 1926 CCM Flyer frame pinstriped.

I took a few photos today and added them to my FLICKR site.

Also added photos of the restored 1925 Brooks B17 Champion Narrow saddle I will use.

Wow, that's a beauty.  That's a ton of work.  Seriously good job.

You sure do beautiful work, good to see you're still at it...

It looks really great, thanks for posting those photos. How did you paint the frame blue? Did you use a "rattle can" or an automotive type paint spray gun? Did you send it out to be painted?

Brian,

The frame was painted blue using an automotive type spray gun and aircraft urethane paint, transfers were applied and the frame and fork were given a clear top coat.

For folks who live in the Vancouver area, the frame was painted by Toxic Harald.

Please see the attached photos:

I added a few parts to the 1926 CCM Flyer frame yesterday to see what it will look like when completed.

I need to find a set of appropriate bar grips, I will make some toe clips to match the pedals.

very very nice, can't wait to finish mine (1933)

decals and pinstripping left

is everything original to the bike?

what kind of grips will you use?

Hello Locomotion,

I bought the frame a couple of years ago from a young guy who was selling it on Craigslist, his ad listed it as an unknown old frame that would make a good RATROD.

I had to find and restore all the parts or make them.

Looking for some short bar grips similar to the ones in the attached photos. If anyone has any please let me know.

Tony

so what width bars do you want 38 or 40 cm?

and are the grips leather covered wood?

These grips are also available on older Ccm Cleveland's  These ones are OG  on a mid twenties Cleveland

Thanks Gt

Bars are 15 3/4 inches 40 cm.

The CCM number for the grips is 823, they look similar to the ones on the 1920's Cleveland photos posted by Gt.

If anyone has a set for sale please let me know.

Thanks

Tony

i got what you need moonm, i emailed you

wow, excellent job. Have you ever had a bike powder coated?

Finally got around to making some toe clips for the Torrington Star racing pedals on my 1926 Flyer.

Patterned them after the old one in the photo below.

Changed the star to a 6 point star to match the star on the Torrington pedals.

Cheers to all.
