Serial No. 9A2504

Hi, I am a new member and live in Sussex New Brunswick Canada.I think this may be a 1937.there was no head badge on the bike.Could some one check that for me,ALSO DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT MODEL THIS MIGHT BE.Thanks for your help.

Why is that frame so graceful ? I have a 37 delivery bike and all the tubing is straight.

Mike the head badge for that year would be diamond shaped with a back badge. My back badge was painted china red and powder blue.

your serial number shoula read XAXXXX in other words mine reads4A0577.

A very helpful guy posted pictures of all the head badges a while back.

Might be a roadster, but there are a bunch of people on here that know a lot more about CCMs than I do.

Does not appear to be a CCM frame, may be an SCP or other like an Eatons model.  Can you provide detailed pics of forks,  underside of bracket, top and bottom of seat tubes and seat tube collar?

What is the diameter of the bottom bracket.

AND  where is the serial number located?  SCP used similar ser # sequencing but they do not correspond with CCM years.

Need more pics to make determination.

Cheers

However the chain ring is a CCM...;)

What does SCP stand for?

Thanks so much for all the help.I will get those pictures soon. What does SCP stand for?---I have a Sunshine with a CCM sprocket, perhaps they sold parts to other companys.

The bottom bracket is 2&3,/6 or 2 & 1/4.The serial no is on the down tube just below the seat.

scp   stands    for  standard cycle products

Agreed, this is not a CCM model. Just about everything about it is wrong. During this era all the CCM models used straight down tubes and, with the exception of the Flytes, had double plate fork crowns. The lugs had much lomger collars and the seat stays were bolted on. Finally, the droputs were far simpler, without eyelets.

Of course, there is also the possibility that it is a contract brand manufactured by CCM.However, this would seem unlikely, as in known cases, CCM has not strayed so far from their basic design.

Regardling the crankset, it is almost certainly a replacement. The older the bicycle, the higher the proabability that will you will see replacement parts, due to the wear and damage.

I haven't seen enough of other Canadian brands ro make a positive identification. While the crown does look like Sunshine's,  the few I've seen have not used a CCM style serial number format. Eaton's Road King brand definitely used the s-shaped down tubes and curved seat stays but I haven't seen one with that style of  seat lug. Regardless of what it is, it is a beautiful bicycle. The seat lug is quite elaborate and the attachment of the stays to the dropouts is exquisite.

Thank you so much for your kind coments,I learned a lot and will continue to restore it and try to find more info.
