1950 CCM Club Racer restoration

Hi All,

First I want to warn the viewers that I have committed an horrible act by updating a 1950 Club Racer

Some parts I could not get, others, would not fit BUT once I get theproper hubs I will use my original rims and will have the wheels made up. At least the spokes and rims are superior on the new wheels which make a nicer ride.

Note, I did get the right nose for the front fender and have the black cable housing seat (for the cable housing which comes from the shifter).

Added to this classic is a '70s British water bottle cage for the handlebars and a modern nickel plated chain (meow!)
Also added is a NOS vintage insultated water bottle, NOS Midland seat bag, NOS Brooks Competition saddle and Flyte hub cleaner.

Also, I wanted to say a special thanks to Waterfront Wheelshop in Oakville. He found these great chrome-like rims and built the wheels with stainless steel spokes. He also overhauled both of the hubs which saved my 1953 3 speed hub. It was terrific to find someone who is not only competent but passionate about his craft. He does appear posed next to my bike during the stage two of my restoration.

Here we go,

do you call it a restoration? did you repaint the bike? or just clean it up?

what hubs are you trying to find?  the 3 speed BSA?

I also love the Club Racers for some reasons

I have 3 of the 4 models (flip-flop, 3 speed BSA and and 3 speed Cyco) made in 1950 in all original condition and none of them have the chrome tip on the fenders

like the look of you water bottle holder, nice addition IMO

b-t-w, I have 2 extra complete wheelsets with a 3 speed BSA set-up correct for you bike and dated 1950, would sell for $300 a set
