1967 Imperial 700

Maybe its not quite a "classic" compared with some others on this site, but here's my first addition to the world of vintage CCM's. Its a gold 1967 Imperial 700 with 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub, found out for the trash in my neighbourhood. As can be seen by the pictures, its in great shape. I do have the front fender, it was just deached from the bike for some reason. It will be my restoration project for the winter, and hopefully ready to go in the spring!

It's a CCM and its a classic !, so if you have some pictures we'll be happy. I have near a dozen CCM mostly for men galaxie, elan, rambler, sunsport and a capri. All have been repaired and they are ready to go but the winter is near lol !.. and the bikes are stored

I thought the picture worked the first time, but I guess not!

Here she is, fresh from the garbage pile:

I will post more as the restoration comes along

ohhhh its a beautiful bike!!!! you just need to find a front fender and the original seat and it will be complete.. you said  it was in the garbage ???? hiiiiiiii!!! ......It is clean !!!! wow !....

Thanks!

I do have the front fender, it was lying beside the bike when I found it. Yeah it was quite a find, I was quite shocked to see it just lying there on the side of the road. I just threw a saddle from an old Targa road bike on it for now, Im looking for a nice period correct one and some original style handgrips.

Sweet rescue! That is indeed a classic. Are you sure your neigbour didn't just set it down and step inside the house for a minute ha-ha-ha Hope you find a seat and some grips.

No, I wondered that myself! I did ask her though just to make sure!

Wow, If only I could find nice bikes like that in the trash!  The ones I usually pull out are there for a reason.

Here she is after a good clean and polish.

I aquired an old Wrights leather saddle from an abandoned bike near my university, and a I added a vintage chrome battery-operated headlamp.

Lookin' good!

Yeah really looking good

Finally the project is finished! Here is it fitted out with some period accesories. Sorry for the poor quality photo, all I had was my phone.

Nice job with the resto.  The accessories and white wall tires are a nice touch.  Is that a licence plate on the front fork?

very nice restauration but why tires with white sides ?,

Thanks!

Yes that is a 1967 Montreal plate on the front fork, ill take some better pictures later on, and bikedenis I put the whitewall tires on because that is what it originally would have come with.

it is already customized,  you can put black tires :) more beautiful with chrome fenders. This is my own opinion Imperial :)

Nice job! I love the sparkle from the fenders.

Nice find and nice work on cleaning the bike. I'm always amazed at what you can find in garbage piles.

My imperial looks the same (even the butterfly bars) but I have the more annoying sturmey grip shift found mainly on old Eaton Gliders.
