+1. I can't properly make out the serial number. Some characters look upside down, relative to the others. If you can't make out the serial number, the headbadge style will give a clue to the general era. Unfortunately, I can't get a good idea of that either, from the posted picture
probably early 50's, but the serial number is quite weird... it looks like a child did the stamping.
