If anyone is interested in CCM parts I can e-mail them pics of the items available.
Hello Tony, Jamie here in Brantford.Ican help you with the Flyer badge for your restoration.I have one here that is a primo 100$ includes shipping. There are others here that are also nice but have not retained their original bright finish 75$.Your project looks to be close. Its one CCM that you don`t run across to often.Hopefully you will be able to display it at the 12th Annual Canadian Vintage Bicycle Show 2013.Thanks, also if any one out their in CCM land is in need of a set of GIBSON Pedals for their own project I have currently have two sets available for either use as they are or invest a little and restore a set ie; nickel or chrome the end caps and order a set of rubbers from Ron Miller.125.00$ per set . Cheers Jamie mcyes1@hotmail.com
I can't help with the badge, but just wanted to comment on the bike and car. Two of my favourite ways to get around, old CCM bikes and the Volvo 240. Both look excellent! I'm guessing '76 to '79 based on the fender badge, unless it's a '75 with the 2.0 pushrod lump under the hood. I hope you enjoy riding/ driving both.
Erik
Erik,
The Volvo is a 79 station wagon, just turned over a 100K miles so it should go for few more.
Some pics of the wagon on my flickr site at this link. http://www.flickr.com/photos/moonm/sets/
Go to page 2 and click on the Volvo set, then click slideshow.
Regards
Tony
Whenever I see someone driving a 240 wagon, I always assume they are a wise, interesting person
Regarding Volvo drivers, in my case my wife would probably question both of your assumptions.
Regarding the CCM, I have been informed by a reliable CCM collector that the frame is a Flyer from around 1925.
If anyone out there has any available suitable components from this era I would be pleased to hear from them.
BB, Cranks, Chainset , Wheels, bars etc.
It would be nice to make it look like the 25 Flyer on this CCM page, (love the bars):

All replies welcome.

Jamie here,my Mother had a new 1976 Volvo 245DL , Ovlov as we called them and that car later on became my first well you know shaggin waggin, camper, Formula 1,rally unit, etc.I was not real nice to that car and finally blew it up on Hamilton mountain HWY 403 after the Cars Concert! That one was repaired and sold to a friend and I found a 1972 145 very clean and freshly just back from Germany as it was purchased there by one of our Soldiers.Close to 100,000 miles later I said good bye to that one and found what is called a 1971 Volvo 145 Express Wagon originally owned by Volvo Canada as part of there Rally Team, it featured a much higher roof height as well as no back seat fiberglass rear door and all hardwood decking inside. That one was sold almost 25 years ago to another friend and was lost to the elements in Telluride Colorado, shame as I could put bicycles right inside like I did with Trials motorcycles back then. There are a few Volvo stories that cannot be told here but show up at the Canadian Vintage Bicycle Show 2013 and hear the real dirt.Thought I should put my 2 cents in, JCM
Jim,
Interesting Ovlov stories.
I drive my Volvo most days of the year, I also have a nice 85 Mercedes diesel wagon that I can stuff my bikes into.
I like the Volvo because I can get my Colin Laing tandem in the back without taking the front wheel off.
To get the tandem into the Mercedes I have to take the front wheel off.
I would like to visit the Canadian Vintage Bicycle Show in 2013 and hear the real dirt , only problem is I live on the west coast. the the.
the only problem is I live on the west coast.

Tony
hemmm !! ....are we in a CCM site ?
What? Never seen a hijacked thread before?
CCMs are good solid bikes, they were well painted and built like English bikes, not poory built and painted like some American bikes.
Volvos are designed to last a lifetime, same with CCMs, it's a good way to do things.
Petina is a hoax guys, it's just a fancy word for rust.
Old bikes are a piece of history and if you have a rusty bike and you don't try and keep it from crumbling into scale, you should sell it to some who will.
yes but certainly not a car site lol
