CCM Ladies one-speed
Hi people,
I am restoring a CCM ladies one-speed.
It has 28 x 1 3/4 Dunlop rims and a New Eadie coaster hub. Assume those are original.
The bike was originally blue but repainted red at some point and I can't seem to find a serial number on the bottom bracket or seat tube.
The bike looks late 50s to me. If possible I would like to date the bike and also get a sense of what the original seat and hand grips looked like.
Appreciate any advice. Next time I will drop in a picture of the bike.
Cheers,
Ian Kinross

Attached is a pic of the bike.
some more close up pictures would be helpfull such as head badge area side and front view and any other areas william rudolph
look on rear drop outs
William, attached is a photo of the badge and hub.
Wayne, thanks for the tip. I found the serial number on the left dropout: DOO8865. And on the right drop out, the letter R. I will search around a bit but if you know how that translates into date of manufacture, would appreciate it.
Thanks to you both for getting back so promptly.
Ian
Bike is early to mid 60s; the CCM marked cap on the forks was only used for a couple of years (62 - 64?). Others who are more familiar with this period could confirm this. There is a thread on the confusing 1960s serial #s
Thanks Wayne, yes the chrome fork caps are marked CCM. Thanks for narrowing down the date on the bike. It's about the same age as me, and in slightly better condition.
"D" sounds like a 1964 bike to me.
new eadie coaster brake the back wheel may have been replaced to keep the bike going some one may be able to tell you the correct rear hub if i am wrong i apoligize in advance william rudolph
Hello: I have a ladies bike E code (1965 model year) which has a Hercules rear hub. I believe your 1964 bike should have a rear hub like this. I will post a picture of it for you.
Carl
Thanks William, Wayne, Carl and ccmusclebikes for your comments.
Based on the info you provided, I will go on the assumption that the bike is 1964, and that the rear wheel/hub may have been replaced at some point (the New Eadie hub may be older than the bike?). The serial number on the dropouts is a dead ringer for the photo Carl posted of his 1965, but with the letter D. So the bike turns 50 in 2014.
Cheers,
Ian K.
