Hi everyone,

In 1978 I bought a CCM bike, my first bike purchased with my own money.

It was glossy black, 10 speed and for the life of me I can't recall the name. Something like Black Prince...there was also a companion bike in silver...at least in the store.

I'm sure that someone can tell me the name of that bike. Thanks to all.

It was almost certainly a CCM Phantom, as this was the only CCM racer offered in black in 1978, though "black" was not part of the offical CCM model name, It was only produced in 1978 and 1979.

The only silver model offered in 1978 was the Corsa, though it could possibly have been a left over Silver Ghost (1973-1977), which was the only CCM I'm aware of that featured a colour as part of the official model name.

It was a small shop in Sorel and I do recall the name Silver Guost.

You jogged my memory and it WAS a Phantom.

To make it more Phantom like I had peeled off the stickers....It was all black...It was a good bike...
