Gibson Pedals

I am restoring a set of Gibsons for my Flyte and I bought NOS blocks for them. My problem is that I cant get those suckers in there. I have soaped them up, boiled them to soften them up which worked to soften but not good enough. Getting very frustrated at this point. Has anyone done this and if so, HOW?

Well I finally got some reproduction Gibson pedal blocks from Ron Miller. So much easier to install. I ended up getting black ones and white ones. The white ones will be going on my Flyte. Should look great against the red paint. They aren't quite done. I need a couple straight axles seeing as mine are bent. Here is a link to my pedal pics.

very nice job, did Ron finally decide to make some blocks?

what did you use to polich the aluminium?

looks pretty shiny

Well done Rob. The Flyte is going to be some show piece. Glad you and Ron were able to connect.

Thanks John.  Loco, not sure if he made more blocks in black but he just made some in white. As for the "shiny" my brother has all kinds of different coarsness of polishing compounds as he polishes wheels on the side. He had about  5 hours in sanding and polishing on these. He used commercial grade polishes, not sure on brand name and polishing wheels and bits on his bench grinder.

GIBSON PEDAL BLOCKS  INSERTS FROM RON ARE VERY IMPRESSIVE .EASY TO INSTALL .LOOKS ORIGINAL. AL

You don't have to yell Al.  :)   And yes they are!

Hey Rob  I get it now...too many caps.
