Greetings from Ontario?
Hi Everyone!!!
I just joined today. :) I live in Kitchener but staying with a friend in Stratford. I acquired yesterday a ladies' Imperial Mark IV in electric blue 2 days ago. :)
She has the G serial number that is confusing but I know she is a 60's bike. A friend found it in his mother's garage up in barrie. She needs a tune up but is in pretty good condition.
From what I can tell she is all original except for the tires. The emblem looks great. She has some dings and scratches in the paint here and there. I was able to get a lot of the rust out of the chrome especially on the rear fender the front one is still really bad. I didn't want to do it but I may have to paint the fenders. Any other ideas? Also, the chrome is starting to lift around the reflector and around the bolt on the handle bars. I was able to get all the nasty black marks off of the seat.
I'm excited to be a part of the community and meet new friends. Any help or suggestions are always welcome. :)
I am including 2 pics. 1 of her before I started rust removal and seat cleaning and one part way through. Lots more to do.
After I started her makeover :)
Welcome to the Forum VintagePrincess. Bike is looking good. Nice clean original.

Hi and welcome. I'm fairly new here too. I recently acquired an Imperial also. My fenders are great but my seat is bad. Mine is a juvenile boys model. Try posting a wanted to buy add on the forum for a replacement fender. I've had great results using SOS pads and dish soap to remove rust off chrome. The soap keeps it from scratching the chrome. Your chainguard looks great. Nice find.

Congratulations on your new acquisition and welcome to the forums. The rejunvenation appears to progessing nicely.Based on my current understanding of CCM's serial number system it should be a 1965 Imperial MK IV.
