imperial mark II- help determining year and replacement parts

hello everyone,

im sort of new to ccms but have always had a passion for bikes... i was given this imperial mark ii and from what ive read i think my model is from 1963....serial number CXXXX.... i will post pics as soon as i can find time, ive joined in hopes to pin point the exact year....my plan was to clean & paint the frame white and upgrade the bottom bracket and crank , wheelset and most other parts with new black parts....my issue is im unsure how to determine what to get for a bottom bracket and crank replacement. I would appreciate any info greatly.

thanks

you'll need a conversion kit for your bottom bracket so you can use any modern square taper bottom bracket.

check this link: http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/opc.html

bottom bracket conversion kits are made for non ccms a little maching may be necessary so you dont split your frame so be very careful       william rudolph

I was wondering if it's like the vintage sturmey archer rims if it's the last 2 numbers that let you know the year of the ccm bicycle on the rear hub.

do you know the bottom bracket dimensions? i was hoping to find sumthing on Ebay to swap in... do you know if anything is available with the proper dimensions so no machining would be needed....

AND ill check the rims tonite and see if i can find any numbers on them.... and hopefully find time to post pictures of the bike, the  serial number and rims

im wondering how to determine shell width and appropriate spindle length.... wondering if anyone can enlighten me
