Just found this yesterday and looking for info
Hi Folks, I always liked the CCMs as my older brother had one back in the early 60's. Of course we hacked that one up to hot rod it at some point like young idiots, so it no longer exists but just yesterday I happened to see this one that reminded me why they were such cool bikes. It is a Boy Scouts Of Canada model still in quite good orginal condition. It must have been kept inside for many years.
I ended up buying it in short order as my wife is a long time Scouter and this was related. I really like the fact that it is a Canadian bike that is related to a Canadian organization.. You can't get much more Canuck than that!
As much as I have been able to find out about it is that is it a 1938 as the serial number is 2A476..
It looks as though they offered the BoySout model for a number of years, at least before the war.
Do any of you know how long they were made and other info such as numbers, colours, other examples etc.
I haven't been able to upload any pictures as my camera is a 5 Mg per picture type but I have a link here to another forum I am on where I have been able to post a few shots of it.

Thanks all!

Ken,
I believe (I could be incorrect), the Boy Scout Model first appeared in 1933 and was carried until bicycle models were limited to Wartime Specifications. I am not sure of the exact year when the Boy Scout Model was discontinued but it shows up in 1933 to 1941 catalogues consecutively. The first page below is from a 1938 Boy Scout catalogue the second is from a 1938 CCM catalogue.
Hope this helps,
Mark
I just looked up your bike. Super nice find in what looks like great original shape. Thats a keeper.
Thanks for that! Very helpful indeed. Looks like mine is just missing the tool bag off the back of the seat and the pump.
I wonder if those are possible to find?
ken
Ken,
I just noticed that the letter in the serial number as you stated is 'A' which should make it a 1937 model.
I scanned both the 1937 Boy Scout catalogue and the 1937 CCM catalogue for your reference.

You're right! My wife corrected me after I did the first post. Good catch and thanks again
