New find

Found this one in a` ditch covered  with mud and leaves. It had been there for a while. I tried to get the serial number but all that comes up is 545301 can't see a letter at the beginning unless it is instead S45301 making it a 1931.  Any thoughts on correct vintage, using the head badge as a reference.ing. Any thoughts as to age.

On further examination the number appears to be 54530 T, which if  am correct makes this a 1960. Sadly the bike is in terrible condition, with the frame rusted through in places.  Is the head badge correct for a 1960 model?  If so can I safely use it on my ladies 1959 that I just found.

It has a pre 1946 head badge, not correct for any post war bikes.  Could the first or second digit  be a letter?, which would support the frame being of pre war vintage.  It also has a UEK crank in the smaller BB housing

Hi Wayne

Thankyou for the response I have taken best pic I can with camera phone and perhaps you can make it out . That first digit sure looks like a 5 rather than an S

The #s look to have been stamped on a Monday morning by an employee suffering from from an acute bout of "hangover".  Hard to tell, I don't recognize the sequence, epecially with what appears to be a dash between the 3 & 0

LOL  yes indeed I agree with the Monday morning connection, I didnt notice the dash and what appears to be a T at the end could possibly be a one

Still trying to date this one. Rear hub is marked Made in Canada Pat 1937 and front hub is msrked Falcon 1/4 Ball Made in Canada

Check/scrape the left side of the seat collar for another  number

Thankyou for the response Wayne, there is no number on the left side and interestingly where a number may have been, there seems to be a flat ground on the seat collar. I will take a better look today and supply a picture later.
