New from Kelowna
Hi , i am new to the world of vintage bikes but have just aquired a 1939 CCM bike that i assume to be a Rambler. Its in rough but rideable condition and i plan to restore it slowly . If anyone has a line on parts like handle bars, chain guard or accessory bling please let me know. I will upload a pic soon.. Nice to meet you all.
Welcome aboard Headcase (I guess that's better than being a basket case lol). Seriously tho, good luck with the resto.
John
Thanks John, nice to find such a great website and community of old bike lovers...
I may be a basketcase by the time i get into this restoration. I have attached a pic.. taken after i wiped the 10 years of dust off it. The serial number has G in the 2nd position - so i assume it is from 1939. The old brochures describe the fork rods as chrone -plated.. so maybe i will find chrome under that ugly blue paint. I am pretty sure the saddle and bars are not original.. but .. if anyone can tell me anything about this bike - or a know great restoration proceedure - i would be happy to hear it. Ride-on gentlemen!
The restoration is now mostly complete.. now i just need to trick her out a little with some bling .. if anyone has original style handle bars, saddle or chain guard to sell i would be glad to here from you.. anold style headlight would be cool too.. thanks to all for the help!
