SOLD 1938 Flyte . Highest Bidder
1938 CCM Flyte for Sale Serial # 3B5060.
I originally got it because it was so cool and wanted to ride it around. Unfortunately I can't seem to find rubber for it, so it is time to let it go to a good home. I will leave this listing up until October 31, 2018. I know it's a long time to wait, but it gives everyone an oportunity to find this and bid on it. I don't know what the market is, so I'm going to do it Auction style. You will be the one to set it. Please post your bids here, for some reason PM's don't get through. The highest bidder can then own it. Good Luck! Don't wait until the very end to bid! make sure you leave at least 10 minutes to make sure you get your bid in the designated time
P.S. I reserve the right to end the Auction early if necessary. It looks like a 24 hour Clock here, I guess the highest bidder at 00:00 will win it. Plus Shipping Costs
This will be fun! What time is the bidding closing on Halloween? My online auction experience is that things can get pretty crazy in the last five minutes
Even though I would want a tall frame, Il start the bidding at 700$ knowing ill be outbid shortly
Of course you can find rubber for it. The rims are probably marked 28 X 1 3/4 W.O. Made in England. Any tire with a 622 mm bead diameter will fit. This includes 700C tires, 29er's, English tires marked 28 X 1 3/4, and Canadian size 28 X 1 1/2 tires. Some local tire shops lack the knowledge to figure this out when presented with something a little different. It is, however, getting difficult to source tires of the right size that have a vintage look. Your best bet for this is searching on Ebay U.K., Ebay France, Ebay Deutschland, or Ebay Italy. Search terms should be 28 X 1 3/4 for Ebay U.K., 700 X 35, 37, 40, or 43 on Ebay France, 28 X 1 3/8 X 1 5/8 or 622-37, 40 or 43 on Ebay Deutschland or Ebay Italy. Ebay NL (Holland) also has some tires that are this size on it. Tires that fit and have a vintage look can still be found. Tires that are cream or red are also available.

Since I am not really a Flyte guru, maybe Greg, or anyone else, can list:
1. The parts missing from this bike (besides the two below):
- Front fender
- Handle bar grips
2. The parts on this bike that are not original and need to be found if the person would like a original looking flyte if any:
-
-
This would be helpful to many of us who do not have the experience with these bikes.
Also, a description of exactly what year and model this bike is. (Example above, would like a tall frame)
Thanks for any assistance in advance !
Something to look forward to after the holy-ist day of the year... HALLOWEEN !
Hi rocketmn. I don't know why you want to sell your rare bike , you said ' You can't find rubbers for your bike... " Do you know thah if you don't find ( 28x1x1/2 ) , you can use ( 700 x 38 C ) inner tube and tire .. they fit on your bike . I don't have your model but i have so many bikes withe 28 wheels and all have 700 X 38C installed on mines .I don't where you live but, if you're in Canada, Canadian tire has them .or you can go at your bike shop ;)
If you want to restore this bike to its original appearance, you may need to replace almost everything with the exception of the frame itself. The front fender is missing but the back fender is not the correct Flyte fender. These would have to be made up from other fenders ( welding two together to get the proper length for the back fender ). The wheels appear to be correct, but their condition may warrant replacement if they can be be cleaned up and trued. Thesame goes for the crank and seat and handlebar stem. The handlebars do not appear to be the proper type for the Flyte. The pedals are not correct and the seat will have to be replaced.
It is important that the frame itself is straight and has no dents or damage because this is what you are buying essentially. The handlebar stem is missing its bolt which suggests that it is probably stuck and you may have to sacrifice it to save the fork ( by cutting it ). This is a difficult job. The triplex crank is missing its nut on the visible side and removal may also be difficult.
This bike may only really be just a frame. Fortunately, everything else can be salvaged from other period CCM bikes. The rear axle locating screws are particular to the Flyte and are probably missing.

May I ask where you are located. This could be a factor when biding on your bike.
According to his Kijiji listing, the bike is in Beeton, ON, which is roughly between Toronto and Barrie.
Well, I'm close to Toronto. Let's start the bidding.
