WTB circa 1912 CCM wood rim
Wanted to buy, circa 1912 CCM wood rim;
I am looking for a wood rim that would be correct for a circa 1912 CCM motorbike. It should be a 28" rim with a metal liner, and drilled for 32 spokes, I believe. It would be an added bonus if the rim had a correct front hub of the same era. I will attach close up pictures of the rear rim to show how the metal liner sits in the rim. I am sorry, I do not have a photo of the correct front hub at this time.
i don't think this is a CCM rim
When you say a 1912 CCM motorbike, do you mean CCM motorcycle? If you are referring to the CCM motorbike style of bicycle, these did not appear until around 1919. Although CCM did offer hubs and rims for 32 and 40 spokes, to the best of my knowledge, the bicycles they sold came with 36 spokes. Maybe someone else on the list can comment on whether this was true for very early bicycles made by CCM.

The rim he wants is for a CCM motorcycle which used the metal liner on there wood rims. He has my CCM motorcycle that went to the UK but is back in Canada.
Hello Dave How many years ago did the CCM Motorcycle go to the UK?
Sold it in 2014.
Hello GTflyte
Can you pm me at lyle.young515@gmail.com regarding the rims you mention above?
I am sorry for the slow repsonse, we have been out of town and have had connection issues with the computer. Back home now,
thanks
Lyle
I have a couple of metal lined rims. I thought they were 36 but went out to the garage to check. The better of the two is 32 hole. Strangely it has a 36 hole CCM '37 hub brake laced into it with 4 unused holes.
It came to me on a "restored" badgeless frankenbike so I can send it to you minus the spokes, nipples, hub, and tire. I was planning to use it on one of my projects but I have been helped many times by very nice people on this site so I can return the favour. I like trades. You can email me at brianrreynolds@yahoo.com (note extra r in middle).
Thanks to all, I believe that I have found the rim needed from Brian. Still working on a front hub for same.
I will also be posting pictures shortly of the crankset chainring and chain that I am searching for, for this project. These would be circa 1912. I have recetly seen a picture of a beautiful Brantford that has the same crankset I am after but the chain ring is diffferent. Thanks again. Lyle
