WTB Various Early CCM Parts
Hello,
I am looking for a few very rare parts, and have just about given up on finding them. I thought I would try the Forum. The parts I am looking for are:
!. A CCM Flyer pre-1935 RH crank.
2. A CCM Sills handlebar stem used with the hygienic cushion frame prior to 1917.
3. An early nickel-plated front sprocket used with the Hercules one-piece crank (5 oval sections).
4. A pre-1920 hygienic cushion saddle (preferably Troxel).
5. Early CCM standard nickel-plated handlebars.
In the unlikely event that you have any of these items and wish to sell them, please contact me. Otherwise, I hope that you all have a good laugh. My email address is jdwillia@shaw.ca
Many Thanks,
John Williamson
Hi John
You mention Hygenic cushion frame bike if you need a new spring i have a couple left that i had made some time ago. Most seem to be broken when you take it apart.
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the offer. Surprisingly, the original spring is still in good condition (someone smeared a thick coating of grease over it). I know from my early Parts and Accessories catalogue that CCM offered 5 different springs for their cushion frames, based on rider weight. I hope that the one I have is suitable for a rider of my weight. I would like to be able to ride the bike once I put it all together, although you never know how reliable those 100 year-old wood rims will be when stressed.
John
Hi john
Been riding on hundred year old rims for years.. Been on many 600 mile trips with no problem on my Massey Silver Ribbon . Even in lots of rain.
