It's that time of year

Vintage CCM Hockey Gloves

Picked these up at the Canadian Vintage Bicycle Winter Show this weekend in Brantford.

Thought they were cool. Not sure of the year, I suspect 1960's. If anyone has any idea or info, please let me know.

Looks like the future of the CCM brand is in good hands.

Tacks are Back

CCM Tacks

Picked this up yesterday. Early 30s by the look of the lettering. Tomorrow Reebok is relaunching the CCM Tack skate under the banner "The Legend is Back." They're really pushing the historical aspect of the CCM brand these days. They even have a line of equipment called Retro-Flex.

Vintage CCM is in! Doesn't matter whether you're on wheels or on skates.

Souray is the last NHLer wearing HT2 helmet

When (or if) Sheldon Souray of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks returns to the NHL after he recovers from wrist surgery, it may be the last time we see a CCM HT2-style helmet worn in the National Hockey League.

Wearing the company colours.....

I'd be curious as to what Reebok pays Carey Price to wear the company colours. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) Price came up short last evening against the Ottawa Senators.

Although the video of Hull's 51st goal is over the top and down the road his life took a somehwat tragic turn, there's no question that in the sixties Hull was the most dominant hockey player on the planet.

SUPER TACKS YEARS AND STYLES 1980'S-NEWER

HI,  I am looking to gauge the date of various styles of the Tacks and Super Tacks models.  I own quite a few different pairs and different styles.  Possible to get a breakdown?

Example--Whatr year did they start the Prolite 3 blade?

When did they go from the black and white (white plastic ankle structure) that still had a little leather, to the all plastic type models?

Batter up!

When I recently arrived for a presentation at the New Toronto Historical Society, I was met by a wonderful lady by the name of Lorna Martin. Although she couldn't stay for the presentation (Lorna is now in her mid-80s and can no longer drive after dark), she had wanted to bring me a photo from the 1920s of the CCM ladies's baseball team. It included her mother-in-law Gwendoline Bragg (2nd from left - top row) and Gwendoline's sister-in-law Emily Martin (1st from left - top row) who was a special person in the life of Lorna's family.
