1938 Redbird

Hi Everyone, just bought what the seller says is a 1938 Redbird CCM. Already have a Marshall Wells Zenith badged early CCM that I know is the original paint job so I'm curious as to whether the Redbird came in this odd blue colour or if I need to attempt a strip job? Thanks for any help.

Guess I need to work on attaching photos to my post.

Wrong headbadge photo for my Marshall Wells Zenith CCM. Here's the correct one.

this is an obvious repaint

i am not sure is this comment is 100% correct per the CCM gurus on here and correct me if I am wrong but:

All 1930's CCM bicycles were pin-stripped

The down tube decal has a post 1945 decal on it which appears to be original...so the frame is not 1930s. Not all post war CCM Fframes were pin striped..I have a NOS frame w/o striking.

original question: " I'm curious as to whether the Redbird came in this odd blue colour or if I need to attempt a strip job?"

he is talking about the blue bike, blue bike is pre-war if it's a 1938!!!

therefore 30's

i have never seen an original paint CCM from the 30' AKA pre-war without pin-stripe

do they exist ... maybe (everything is possible with CCM), but not with this color blue

Yes, blue bike is supposed to be a '38 Redbird. Red bike is my Zenith Marshall Wells CCM for comparison. The first red bike headbadge photo was the wrong bike but does show the pinstriping I'm used to on '30's CCM. Pinstripe on my Zenith CCM:

The 1938 CCM catalogue lists the motorbike finished in either maroon or saphire blue finish, Phillips pedals, striped fenders with the front having a long fender with double braces and no chain guard.

Thank you very much. Any help is much appreciated by this newbie to the CCM collecting field. To be honest I'm not as concerned with them ever getting to be 100% accurate as much as I am interested in getting them all functional and decent looking. I do this for the love of riding oldies as much as having something of value.
