I was wearing horseshoes when I picked this bike up. Does anyone recognize the model?
22-20" frame, enamel rims, maroon matching the frame, and white pinstriping all around. 28" wheels, 50T crank.
Everything but the saddle and handgrips looks original.
CCM Men's Standard Roadster.
Thanks, T-mar. It is a brilliant machine, fits like a glove. The 50T crank gives a bit of extra zip on the flats.
Someone really looked after this one. I gave it a coat of clear, cleaned and lubed the bearings, chased the rust out of the stems and that was it. It came in a collection of parts that represented the makings of three bikes. I wasn't sure how much of the bike was there until I got it home. I was dumbfounded when I saw what was there.
There is a lot of luck involved when you start chasing bicycles. Some considerable distances.
I owe the fellow who sold me this lot for a song. Lucky for me he was cleaning a few items out his shed.
