1950 Club racer wheels and shifter
Hi,
I'm still looking for a set or rear wheel for a 1950 ccm club racer.
I checked the image that T-Mar sent and all it states for the hub is a 3 speed hub.
This year I was told that S.A. didn't make one for that year and another source told me that it was a B.S.A. hub.
The rims must be 26 x 1 1/4" with Endrick rims (according to the sales page).
Depending on the shape, I'm willing to pay a fair price.
Thanks
I have a set of wheel you are looking for your Club Racer
it's a 3 speed BSA with shifter
$300 + shipping
'50 and '51 catalogues don't actually state the brand of 3 speed hub used, but my 1952 cataloque says BSA 3 speed hub
For what it's worth, my 1951 CCM Club Racer, which looks relatively all original (and needs a good overhaul lol), has a 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub.
thanks Wpgguy, actually that is a good piece of info, because your bike does look all original, is the hub dated 1951?
we can just speculates until we find an actual example like yours, since the '50 and '51 catalogues didn't give the specifics
my 3 speed BSA 1952 Club Racer is also original and matches the '52 catalogue info
can you show pictures of the complete bike?
Won't be able to confirm the hub date for a couple of weeks, but here are a few photos of the complete bike from when I aquired it.
The handlebars are not exactly in "racer" position!! As I noted...needs a good overhaul.....oh....and a front fender!
thanks
once cleaned up it will look nice,
so did you find your hub?
$300 is really not that much, add it all up, front hub ($30), rear hub ($80), both rims ($80), 2 tires and tubes ($50), 72 spokes and nipples ($70), job to get those laces if you can't do it ($60), shifter and cable ($50), all that for $300 and it's all period correct .... it was off a 1950 CCM .... no rust, just free grease
