Hi John, thanks for considering my suggestion! I also participate in the old car hobby and belong to a sailing club, and one of the things I enjoy about these interests is meeting and chatting with other collectors and participants who share the same passion. I thought that a member section of the gallery could help CCM collectors network with each other, sharing photos, knowledge, swapping bikes and parts, etc.. If you go ahead with this page it would give me a place to post photos of my collection of mostly Canadian bikes, which at present includes: 1897 Speed Queen Ladies, c.1901 CCM Dominion, c.1915 Viking, c.1918 The Planet, c. 1920 CCM Gendron Ladies, 1922 CCM Cleveland, 1934 CCM Overland, 1939 CCM Motorbike, 1941 CCM Motorbike, 1947 CCM Ladies, 1947 Canadian Tire Supercycle, 1951 CCM Balloon Tire Motorbike, c. 1955 Roadking girls, and c. 1975 Beekay tandem. I would also post my wish-list of bikes and parts I'm searcing for, and unanswered questions I have about my collection. I hope you go forward with it - I think it would be fun. -Brian in Toronto.
It would be fun to view collections that members have built over the years and learn a bit more about the bikes and the members. An it will provide- for me at least- inspiration to seek out new CCM bikes to add to my fleet-of-one.
Since joining this group, I've learned quite a bit about CCM and their bicycles. A gallery of collections will surely prove to be a great additional reference.
It's neat when I see an older CCM and recognize it, thanks to this group's treasure trove of information. I don't see too many CCM bikes around here, but they always have caught my eye. Great bikes!
I'm jumping the gun a bit but I'll throw this out there anyway. I've been doing a lot of searches lately to identify a few old bikes and components but the search results on Google images are not very specific so it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Something for people to keep in mind when setting up their gallery (and posting pics to regular threads) is to use descriptive naming for their photo filenames. Descriptive filenames serve two purposes; it will help with the Vintage CCM website SEO (so more people find the site) and it will improve Google image search results for specific keywords.
For example, instead of keeping the default names assigned by the camera or renaming your photos with non-descript names like "photo01.jpg" or "old-bike02.jpg", be as descriptive with keywords as possible like "1936-ccm-flyte-01.jpg" or "ccm-3-speed-hub.jpg".
This will make a HUGE difference with Google image search as well as bring more people to this website through a regular web search.

Brian: Could you send me some photos of your Dominion so I can make comparisons with mine, which currently is displayed at a local bike shop. bmwchev@msn.com

A lot of collectors already use sites like Flicker or Photobucket to showcase their collections. Perhaps links to their sites would be enough.
I check this forum virtually every day to see what is being discussed and believe it is sufficient to connect with those of similar interest.
I would like to see the Gallery used to display photos or scans of the vast collection of CCM bicycle ads and catalog pages that a lot of those here have collected. If they were sorted by both year and model name, identifying bikes would be a lot easier for all. This could remain in control of the powers-that-be and the safety of this site could be maintained.
I could see such an organized database eliminating a lot of the friendly and informative chatter that goes on in the forum though.
ccmusclebikes: Thanks for the response. I realize that many collectors use such pages, but what I envision for the Gallery (should it come to pass) is more than just a collection of photos. That's not to say that, at some point, we couldn't have a gallery of advertisements as you suggest.

John
I think John's idea is great to have all the pictures on this site
I personally hate going on Photobucket, the site has way too many advertising, which slows down the process of going through the albums
