66?!…boy's bike, nice one…I think
Total newb to the club & ccm world. Bike obsessed nonetheless. I've come across a real beauty that is too small for me to ride.
the serial #G150 381. In viewing past posts I'm guessing it's a 66, the G code is odd? Ultimately I'd like to trade this one for one I can ride, open to suggestions/ advice. I'm not looking to profit from this bike, it's worth preserving as is. Now let's see if I can get my pics up!!
Here's pictures I hope.
Looks like a 24" wheeled bike.
Tire size is likely 24 x 1 3/8.
Not a popular size for collectors as it is like you say, too small for adult riders.
20" muscle bikes are cool collector items and 26-28" are adult friendly for riding.
If no one will trade you for something bigger, I will buy it for a friends kid to ride
giving you some money towards another bike usable to you.
I would flip the bars back and add a set of grips and let them ride it as is.
Hope you find something you can use.
Another option is going to Jamie's bicycle show June 26th in Brantford ON.
You should have no problem finding a bike there and you will be amazed at what you do see.
You will make it a yearly MUST DO after attending it !
Nothing finer than hanging out with a groovy group of bicycle people.
Good luck !
They are actually 26" wheels…I'm 6'1". I did return the bars to their proper position. Everything moves just needs re- packing. The coaster hub is toast without parts I'm afraid. Took it apart cleaned and regreased it to no avail, Hercules 64 with lines in hub shell. The Branford show sounds fun but I know I won't make it this year already.
How much grease and where did you put it in the hub ?
You may have to much grease causing the brakes not to work and the drive to skip .
The subject bicycle is a 1964 CCM Rambler, Boy's Juvenile.
I think your bike is the last year for the metal head badge, if I'm not mistaken.
Actually, 1966 was the last year for the metal head badge.
last year for METAL head badge was 1964........
The first year for the Mustang was 1965 and it has a metal head badge, and so did the 1966 Mustang. 1967 saw the first paper head badges.
Thanks for all the info everyone. It's definitely a metal head badge. I'll run with your ID t-mar, I appreciate the model info especially…Rambler, boy's juvenile. I will likely post it for trade here in the for sale forum. A Rambler that fits would be nice but I'm open to other than CCM bicycles…I really do admire the old one piece cranksets with the logo chainring like on the bike in question. I just missed a 5speed men's touring(?) with full fenders & chaingaurd with logo crank and a rear derailleur, it was pretty cool & would have fit!! Thanks again.
