CCM 28 x 1 1/4 partial wheelset for Road Racer, Planet etc

Hi I've got a set of these somewhat obscure wheels available. The rear is complete with Phillips double sided hub with a Dominion Fleetwing tire. The front has sadly had the front hub cut out. It has a Dunlop Speedster tire. Both wheels have tubes that I haven't tested. Both rims are oxidized but 45 secs with a little fine steel wool reveals decent chrome. The rims are solid. I'd like $200 plus shipping. Email with questions?

thanks

Warren

Photos would help. Can you measure the width of the rear hub at the axle mounting points? Any idea which decade they're from?

No sprocket or lock nut?

Lock nut is there and 18 tooth cog is available. Had to make sure it came off but it didn't make it on for the pic

I tried loading 8 pics. Will try again.

Looks like ~108 OLD. No date codes on the hubs so dating isn't likely. They came from an old Toronto shop that was active back when The Maple Leaf Cycling Club was in action and there was a track out in the Beach. I have a set of Doc Martin Tandem track hubs from the same shop.

I have a Doc Morton frame. I'd love to see those hubs. What makes them tandem hubs?

40 hole front, 36 rear, no dust caps, they ran on oil. Mike Barry verified.

Very cool, thanks. Here is the front hub on the 1932 Olympic tandem built by Doc Morton - certainly looks the same.

A sibling! The other difference is the width. If I'm not mistaken, the OLD for the front hubs are 110mm, made for a beefier front fork.

Did you sell these?

The Schwinn Paramount track tandems had wider fork spacing to accomodate the Tandem hubs.

The Schwinn Tandem hub barrel diameters are larger diameter, also the bearing diameters are larger.

The distance between the phone dial large flanges is also wider on the Schwinn tandem hubs.

I believe that Schwinn made some large flange phone dial track hubs for CCM.

I have an oddball rear track hub shell that was probably made by Schwinn, the barrel is marked CCM in the correct font.

The hub shell I have is wider between flanges than the standard Schwinn phone dial track hub, it also has a larger barrel diameter and probably takes larger bearings.

Does anyone know if CCM ever made a track tandem?

Doc Morton made a track tandem but he also made his own large flange hubs.
