CCM Cone Nut Tool

Well....I've been having issues trying to get that cone nut off that's next to the chain ring on a couple of projects.

I searched the good old CCM forums and the internet and see I'm not the only one. I see in the catalogue there was a special tool (of course) that is used to get that cone nut off.

I suppose you could fab something up (and I've tried) but I decided to find a solution that would work better than a tool hack or pliers etc....

The solution I've found (as of Nov. 25, 2014) is at Princess Auto http://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/box-end-wrench/A-p8495905e

This wrench has the exact size required (1-3/8") and has a bigger offset than most offset wrenches and is able to clear the dust cap easily...and for $5 (on sale)....is totally worth it. (Note: This is a "Surplus Item" and may not always be available in the future).

Just thought I'd share that tid-bit as I know I'm not the only one who struggles with this part.

I've found that putting it in a vice then using a pair of big channel locks from the top works well too.

I bought the exact same wrench at Princess awhile back, for the same purpose.

Got tired of mashing over the dust cap. Couldn't beat the price, 5 bucks.
