A CCM Cyclet

A buddy of mine was helping an older couple get ready for a yard sale and pulled this baby out of their basement. Knowing I was into CCM he bought it and sold it to me. It's missing the front fender and the seat is worn a bit on the one side, but you can still see the original burgundy paint and pinstriping. I'm seriously thinking of having it restored, but have no idea what that would cost. Any thoughts?

Below is the 1926 catalogue page that introduced the cyclet. it was offered, I believe up until the time of the Second World War.

Very cool. Unless it`s a lot worse than the photo appears...I  wouldn`t touch that paint. It`s only original once...

Super cool! DON'T RESTORE! A light cleaning would be sufficient.

OK. I'll see how it looks once I've cleaned it up.

I bet it`ll be great once cleaned up. Is there a diagram of the Joycycle (tricycle) in that catalog?  I have one from that era, and would love to see it....

John:  I picked one up yesterday; just like the one in the scan from the catalogue, no brakes, slender tubing; its missing the fenders;  and...the fact that the hangar set moves along the bottom tube and is removeable is just so neat.  I didn't know what it was until I Googled today; brought me straight to the Site.   Is there a head badge on yours?  Yours appears to have a wider bottom tube.  Here are a few pix    http://s917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/dobie45/CHILDs%20SIDEWALK%20BICYCLE/          Cheers to all

Nice find, Wayne. Thanks for the pics. Yours appears to be in better shape than the one I have. To answer your question yes mine does have a CCM head badge on it.

Nice Pictures!

A bit of info:

This Cyclet, according the the photos of a catalogue I found, is the Cyclet no. 52.

I found one a couple of years ago, being thrown out, if you can believe that. Mine isr the Cyclet no. 51 (the one with a double bar frame).

I started a thread for my CCM Cyclet, so that I could share the Photos of the Catalogue, as well as a photo of my CCM Cyclet. the link is http://www.vintageccm.com/content/ccm-cyclet-no-51
