CCM Galaxie
From Bobby:
Good day. I have a CCM galaxie and in the process of restoring it. I do not know the year of the bike but internet says the serial number could reveal what year it was made. My serial number is D257073. I am hoping someone on this blog could graciously tell me if the number cited above is revealing anything.
Thank you and have a great day.
D indicates it is a 1972 model.
+1, it's a1972 model.

All the male models were Martian Red, while all the female models were Asrtro Blue.
Hi T-Mar
Nice details.
Now we know everything this is to know about the Galaxies.
I have a galaxie bicycle which I am restoring. The serial number is D257073.
Does anyone here know if this is from the 70's or the 60's. Thank you for the nice website/forum.
As previous stated, you should have a 1972 model. There were no Galaxie models in the 1960s. The only years they were manufactured were 1971 and 1972, and the D-code indicates 1972 manufacture.
However, it's possible that somebody could have retro-fitted a Galaxie chainguard to another model. The era can be determined by the serial number location. If this was a 1960s D-code, the serial number would be stamped into the rear dropout, while a 1972 would have the serial number stamped into the lower seat tube.
Anyways, mine his like the red one in the picture but not with the same handlebar , however it's all original
ahhh i forgot something, my wheels are 28 X 1 1/2 original to the bicycle.
