CCM Motorcycles?

I'm writing a brief history of Canadian motorcycles and have found information on the 1908 CCM Lightweight Motorcycle and a Light Delivery Bicycle that included a Pixie cyclemotor made in Montreal by Godscroft Industries, Endo Motor Division in the late 1940s and early 1950s.

I'm wondering if anyone can help me flesh out the story a bit?  I'm also looking for any reference to a motorized bicycle manufactured in the 1930s.  The information I have is a bit confusing as to whether the reference is to the 1932 Light Delivery Bicycle or a different model designed for another purpose.

I've ordered Mr. McKenty's book but am hoping someone might have pictures, anecdotes, or leads to further information.  Thanks, Char

Char: Welcome to the board and thanks for the book order. It's on its way.

You might want to check with Sharon Babaian (sbabaian@technomuses.ca) at the Science Museum in Ottawa as they recently purchased a motorized CCM bicycle and I believe had a historical appraisal done on it.

While on the topic, a fellow contacted me recently looking to buy a Pixie engine, with or without the bike. If anyone has a lead on one, let me know and I'll pass the info along.

Char       I have a 1908 to 1912 CCM  Motosacoache  motorcycle.  Have never been sure just what year it is. It was on display at the National Museum of Science & Industry for many years.  I have had it since 1977 and do not know much more about it now than I did when found. I have a manual for it (did not come with it) that says on the cover   "CCM  Motor Bicycle    1911" found it at Hershey PA.  The cover of the first issue of  "Canadian Motor Cycle Journal and Bicycle Review"   has full page of the "CCM (light weight) Motorcycle"   price  $190.00.

Sorry forgot to give my name re CCM motorcycle.     Ron Miller

I really feel I dropped the ball on one of these about 3 years back. A guy had one on kijiji in original condition with the pixie motor. Said he would take $600. I wasn't in the position to dump 6 bills on a bicycle and I'm really kickin myself now. The motor was probably worth that or more. Heres what it looked like if someone is wondering and never seen one.

It's become clear to me hotrodrob, that you don't have your prioritys strait

You can sell one of your kidneys for $20,000.

Then you could buy a whole bunch of Kool bikes.

i sold a Pixie bike a few years back for that amount , around $600 ... might of been mine

can't remember who bought it

someone should buy my wood rim CCM, or they will kick themselves in a few years

Good point Lawrence! I never thought of that, hahaha!
