CCM unknown model and the year

Hello to all...

This morning I bought a CCM for $5. unfortunately, the bike has been repainting by a stupid jobber, no badge at all . So, I scratched with a knife on a side of the seat post and the number serial says " 3H1957.. so i'm wondering what is the year of this bike and probably the model.. unfortunately i have no picture to show :( no camera sorry ....Of course, i would like to know the year if it's possible ;) thanks you guys.

Well, the frame was manufactured in 1942. CCM signifcantly pared down the lineup in September 1941 as part of the wartime materials conservation effort.  If it has 26" wheels then it is either a Boys' or Girls' Juvenile. 28" wheels plus Triplex cranks indicate a Special or Ladies' model. 28" wheels plus a single piece crankset indicates a Boy Scout or Rambler Roadster. The only difference was the colour and head badge. Of course, a female frame with these components would be a Girl Guide or Rambler Ladies' Roadster.

Given the 1942 code, we should not discount the possibility of  a 1943 model manufactured in late 1942. The war grade models could possibly have been in production by this time and would be easily identified by the lack of rivet holes for the head badge. Just make sure the paint is not filling the holes.

Thank you very much T-Mar... this bike has no chain-guard and, even if i remove the paint for viewing the badge, i don't see anything about it. It has a pair of 28 wheels..a cap on the bottom for probably oiling the crank and the crank itself is in one piece and the pedal are ceased , spokes are ceased .. :( ..the handlebar is not big on it too.....But, can you tell meif th wheels are painted in burgundy with pinstripes ? are in chrome.. thanks in advance ;)

During this period, chain guards were used only on the female models, with the exception of the Motobikes, which were discontinued in September 1941. Since it has a one piece crankset, I'm assuming it is a Boy Scout or Rambler Roadster, both which  used  rims of "enamelled steel, suitably striped".  Both were available in maroon, though the Boy Scout had a sunburst head and the Rambler was also available in blue. If it has a metral head badge, the difference should be apparent, even when heavily painted over, as the Rambler used the diamond shaped badge while the Boy Scout used a round badge.

From what I see, there's 2 holes for the badge.. I have no idea of that badge, and yes under the paint, it is maroon..
