Chain wheel removal

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions, tools or magic for removing the drive side nut holding the chain wheel to the crank on a 1961 Rambler?

The large dust cap prevents me from getting standards tools to take a good bite.

It looks to be right hand thread, but most forms say left handed?

Thanks and take care,

Daryl

This is a recurring topic. Please refer to http://www.vintageccm.com/content/ccm-cone-nut-tool

That tool works excellent, cheap too.

Thanks and sorry for the duplication.  I'll pick one up.

On another note, once a post has been answered is it okay to delete it or is that for the moderator to decide.

Take care, Daryl

My understanding is that thread deletion  is the orignator's prerogative and can be done without the moderator's approval. There are some members who routinely delete their threads.

Also, there is no need to apologize for the duplicate thread. Searching topics on the forum is not easy. You can try searching via Google by adding 'vintage ccm' to your search terms. For instance, Googling ' vintage ccm chain wheel removal' should bring up this thread. The other alternative is to manually scroll down the titles. Fortunately, I remembered the previous thread on this topic and found it without to much difficulty.

Thanks T-Mar.  Good to know the proper etiquite and protocol. Better still is taht there is someone out there who has a mental index of previous posts. Thanks for your help with this one.

Take care, Daryl
