Cleveland 124
Fellow by the name of Ron is looking for more info regarding his bike. Particularly its age. It's badged a Cleveland 124. The fact that it's marked Toronto rather than Weston means it's probably pre-1917. It has a pneumatic cylinder behind the seat and a piece of spring steel behind the pedals making the rear end cushioned . Any thoughts?
John
The Cleveland is around early 1900 i would say
.I have a Massey silver ribbon same cushion frame but massey type fork . I noticed it has a early Eclipes Morrow coaster brake which came out in !899 one of the first coaster brakes. You can tell it is a morrow as the brake arm is on the chain side. has a large cone shaped brake drum. I have one of these brake on a 1896 Comet bike made in toronto they work great . Nice bike.

I have a 1902 CCM ad advertsing a "hygienic cushion frame" that I assume would be this one. I will try to dig it up.
John
Here is a 1907 ad advertsing the cushion frame for both the Massey and the Cleveland, as well as others.
oops the original ad I referred to was 1903. Here it is here. It's a three-panel cardboard fold-out done for the 1903 Dominion Exhibition (later known as the CNE).
