Hello,

The chrome-plated Dunlop rims suggest a late 1930's bicycle up to around 1941. The chrome-plated chain guard also was current around 1940. The cranks appear to be triplex with the "CCM" sprocket which was introduced around 1936. However, the fenders are newer replacements, as are the seat and pedals. The headbadge seems to be missing. It is possible that this is a bicycle pieced together with parts from different eras. Why not check the serial number?

Regards,

John Williamson

Thanks John, where would that be ? I looked under crank pedals and front forks but found nothing,,, any idea of its value? I wondered about the seat because it has a silver "supercycle" badge on back of it

thanks again

The rims are stamped "made in England"

The serial number should be stamped on the top of the tubing where the seat post enters the frame. CCM used Dunlop rims until they started manufacturing their own rims. The rims are probably stamped "28 X 1 3/4 W.O." "Made in England". As to value, not a lot - no more than $150.

John

You should find the serial number at the top left side of the seat post.

The chainguard looks aftermarket, especially with that shiny new mounting hardware. The wheels don't look CCM to me. I've seen that saddle before - I think it's rubber and says Made in Germany. Seems to have been heavily restored.

Thanks very much everyone !

The rims, if they have the red stripe, could be off another CCM. Don't get rid of those.

And they did make a chrome plated version, of the chain guard, I have one, all they did is chrome plate the usual '' hockey stick '' guard.

Thanks, found serial #.. 3D 7445, not that It helps me any,,,

Is there a directory to look that up anywhere ?

1940
