I managed to get the crank arms off (thanks for the suggestions!) and I'm starting on the BB. Any tricks to this process? Is the drive side left hand/reverse thread like on most modern bikes? Thanks again.
Yep, it's the original triplex crank. Pics are in introductions. Bearings are in great shape, no rust in the BB shell. Impressed with the way these bikes were made - factory paint inside the frame tubes etc. Pics below are of a ghetto crank pulled I fabbed as well as the frame before paint stripping.
is it a triple CCM crank?
yes it should be reversed
any pictures of your Flyte?
the last hex nut, inside, next to the sproket is usually very hard to get off/unscrew
i fabricated a special tool that is 4 inches long to be able to remove it without breaking/bending anything
