anyone have a link on when the defective pedal blocks were recalled due to a defective batch
because it seems I was sleeping that day and didn't get that notice for the large order I had made
seems like the problem with quality is now ok, but I'm still stuck with the problem and it's been too long for a warranty return
Happy New Year to all the CCM Vintage folks out there.I have decided albeit a little late to have the CVBS Winter Show & Swap here in Brantford on Saturday Febuary 20/16,as a place to show a few bikes, sell some bike treasures and have a visit with other collectors and like minded people,a low key fun day to help us through this relatively tame winter we are having this year. The venue is the same location as always 100 Market St SOUTH JUST south FROM THE CHARITY CASINO.It will be from 7am-4pm.The site is under new ownership and is being converted to a banquet hall from the previous church. This year we will utilise the front glassed in showroom for the event. Please bring any tables & chairs that you can and I will see if I can also locate a few.Great chance to maybe find that part you need or the one you have been looking for.Admission is 5$ general and 10$ for vendors or whatever you can afford to donate to the Stedman Community Hospice here in Brantford,Thanks for your continued Support each year,The 2016 15th Annual CVBS & Swap is back again at Heritage View Farm by popular demand on Sunday June 26/16. Start to Spread the Good Word out there on both events and I look forward to seeing many old and new faces alike, bring a friend or two,new blood is always welcome, any questions please let me know.Best Regards Jamie
pedal rubbers recall locomotion have you contacted ron miller who made the pedal rubbers? ihave dealt with him in the past and have found him a honest man i am sure he would replace them if your batch was defective
yes I have contacted Ron, and was replied pretty hashly and things went downhill...
when I asked when the recall was advetised to the buyers, I was told by Ron himself: "I did tell buyers, I guess you were asleep that day". So I guess the buyer were only told during that 1 day and I missed it.
I had bought for over $500 of blocks and grips, and never knew of a recall, hence my post, trying to figure out when it was publicly advertised, or where it was advertised. I just assumed that everyone was ok with buying expensive jello. But it seems when someone voices their opinions on here, everyone is a "honest'' man!!!! Lots of honest people here I guess.
My comments are that ,I bought grips knowing they were not made of rubber also prompt delivery and found the product comfortable and works very well as a reproduction replacement .Definitely no deficiencies experienced .
thanks Greg
I also bought two pairs of grips and like them. If they are not rubber, what are they made of?
I've also bought a couple of pairs of beehive grips in black and are great if you can't find originals. I haven't bought any Gibson Pedal blocks. If I can say one thing if the pedals are made from the same rubber as the grips they would not stand up to riding and would only be good for a show bike. This is only my opinion on the pedal blocks. On the otherhand I agree with Brian and Greg that the grips are great repops and serve the purpose.
I have found that my batch must be from the defective batch because some have simply melted or colors have bled from each other, bought pedal block in all 3 colors and grips in all 3 colors, and the red ones bled on the white ones ... which is not normal for "rubber".
made a large order at once (pedal blocks and grips) without knowing that they were not actual rubber, I had simply trusted a fellow bike enthusiast.
the title to this tread is misleading as it is states: " Gibson Pedal Rubbers" and they are simply not rubber.
I have made several attempts to contact Ron, and he told me that a recall was made of the defective batch and that, I quote Ron: " I must have been asleept that day". Great customer service Ron.
So on Monday, since I have not heard from the seller, I will pack the stuff up and priority mail it back to him for a FULL refund.
