Manitoban Connection

Hi All

As most others here , I grew up riding CCM bikes . We drove past the factory in Winnipeg weekly . My favourite was my CCM Mustang . My friend and riding buddy had the Cobra . This would be around 1968 . I had a long absence from bicycles until about 2004 . Immediately I collected 3 vintage bikes from local garage sales . The city seemed to be ripe with vintage bikes . My interest has waned some for health reasons but I will always love CCM bikes . Now for the part that makes most vintage bike lovers cringe . I found a CCM GT-101 , with 26" wheels , at a garage sale for $10.00 . If I didn't buy it , it was going to the dump . It was completely dent and corrosion free . I spent some time with the rubbing compound and turtle wax . Then I did the nasty deed . I installed a 48cc bicycle engine kit and have put more than 1500 miles on it since . It has been great fun . I have a few other bikes that I will post pictures of in the appropriate spots .  .... D.J.

Hi D J

There are a few Manitobans on this site, preset company included.

LOL Yes, I did cringe when I saw the motorized GT101.

I was looking for a  GT101 for a few years and finally came across a nice one last year.

Welcome to the club.
