What was the last year for the metal head badges? I have been told that it is 1964, but I don't have any 1960s catalogues or other reference material to confirm. Out to you for input. Cheers, Wayne
I have a '64 store poster that shows the bikes with a metal badge. I know I have one for '65 but haven't been able to put my hands on it. Will keep looking.
I don't think the company included the bikes in its catalogues during the 60s. All I've ever seen are Parts & Accessories catalogues and flyers or pamphlets showing the bicycles. Many of the flyers could be folded out to serve as a store poster.

Hey Wayne I would agree it`s 1964 as I have read this somewhere but my memory fails me as to where I read this. Also I have a Beautiful Gold 1964 CCM Catalina that has the metal headbadge and the lesser Hercules 64 Rear Hub and Falcon Front Hub. It also had the two tone mattress type saddle that matched te frame color somewhat. Also has the original union bow pedals that were serviceable in the time. If I knew how John I would post a picture. I am not the most computer savy. Thanks Real

Spring is good, Summer is better, Hello to all the Vintage C.C.M members.Iam sure you all enjoy this site as much as I do!We all learn more everytime on,Johns work to maintain this site for us is greatly appreciated, plus he's not a bad guy.Anyhow to stick my 2 cents in my 2 1965 Mustangs all have metal badges and I have one dealer parts catologue photo from 65 that illustrates this.Only the 65s have the badge and ornate headtube.Looking at other bikes I have seen it looks like 66 was maybe when things went to foil, life before the dreaded vinyl. Can`t forget its Bicycle Show season, here in Canada ie;Vancouver,Toronto, and here in Brantford, these shows are fun and not going to go away and if you miss one of these events that will be your problem, heha attend if you can, find that dream machine and sell some junk, I mean treasure.Wheels are good,JCCM

All of the bikes on the 1965 CCM poster appear to have the metal headbadge.
The his and hers "Golden-Glo" CCM Catalinas are there and are described as having the Hecules 64 Coaster brake, just like the above pictures indicate.
The "H" serial number indicates that they may have made the Catalina in 1966 or 1967, but the metal headbadge seems unlikely to match up with a ny 1967s. Any input on this?
1966 is a very grey area for me right now..
Anybody have complete line-up 1966 and 1967 catalogs or posters they would like to sell?
Once I find complete line-up info on the 1966, 1967, 1973 and 1976 CCMs, I will be sorting (and documenting with pictures) all data from 1965 to 1977.

Hi ccmmusclebikes thanks for the great input as I am upin the air as well with my catalina as I am thinking it is newer than 64. How long did CCM make the Hercules 64 hub maybe its 66, this might tell some of the story. But then again like you say there is some grey areas. I would like to know the year of my Golden-Glo Catalina maybe `65?
FWIW, the 1966 Catalina was catalogued only in Coppertone. The Catalina was offered in Golden-Glo from 1963-1965 inclusive. Based on the colour and H-code, it would appear to be a 1965 model.

Hi John I have to take a couple of pictures today I will try and get them to you in the next day or two
1964 CCM Catalina
I have a '65 (I think) Imperial that has a brass headbadge. The serial number starts with an "E" if that helps with the actual year.
Erik
Hi Rusty Wheels What kind of rear hub is on your Imperial or is it a Sturmey 3spd?

Some apparent 1967 bikes have been defined as having "I" or "J" serial numbers.
I'd place your Catalina as a 1966.
Thanks Alot and hopefully we will get a chance with a catalogue to further to further our knowledge.
