My rescued 1940

I thought I would take a few minutes and share a picture of this super cool 1940.  I rescued this bike from our local landfill!!  Somebody had set it out beside the scrap metal pile. I scooped it up as soon as I saw it. I am a salvager by nature, but know the difference between junk and treasure. I couldn't find any info on a model name. If anyone knows that would be great.   Kinda wondering what it might be worth too. Thanks in advance for the shared knowledge.   Ryan

cool find. I like the color (it's not burgundy) and the large size of the frame. there are lots of wrong parts but if it was all original you could get $250.

Good to hear you saved it from being turned into a soup can.  I believe the ones with the twin bars were motorbike models.

It must be nice to be able to remove items from the local dump.  Around here apparently it's too much of a liability issue, and everything gets buried in the ground or sold as scrap or recyclable material.
