Need help identify year and model

Hello,

I'm looking for some help identifying the year and model of my bike.  I've included before and after pictures of my restoration.  The serial number was found at the back of the back neear the rear wheel hub and it is C40401.  Now according to the SN# Guide, it would be a 1963 but my father in-law had this bicycle in the family for quite some time.  He remembers pedalling squeezed in between the fram because they weren't tall enough.  Both his father and grandfather rode it in the same period.  So 1963 does sound right at all.  Could this bike be even older that the 60's?  Included is a photo of the head badge.  All my facts seems to contradict themselves :)

Thank you for the help.

Andre

According to the serial number it's a 1923

Or a 1963.

I don't know enough about these bikes but if you go back further on the serial number chart it matches with a 1923 also. This would verify the story from your family ridinf it earlier than 1963. I'd look into the headbadge style to confim.

Post war head badge.

63 is probably correct as CCM logo only appeared for 2 or 3 years on the crown plate.  63 & 64 for sure possibly 65

Oh yes, model : Mens standard roadster

It's definitely very early 1960s. There's not enough data on the serial numbers from this period to provide a definitive answer but it's pre-1964 and could go back as far as 1960. As for the model, the red paint in combination with white mudguards is typical of a Rambler from this period.
