Hello Bill motorcycle man not there today a found a decent pair off  a hub will mall today
Thanks Greg

If your bike is a 1898, then the ND model A is not the original hub for it, model A dates to 1902-1928

in 1898 it was Corbin that was manufacturing the New Departure and in 1898 it was sold as the "New Departure Controller"

I should of asked which model ND model A you have, does your coaster brake arm have the adjusting screw?

because I have 4 of each hubs and went to try the bolts and they fit in the newer ND model A but oddly enough not in the older kind

best thing would probably be to bring the back wheel to a shop that specialises in nuts and bolts and have them measure exactly the tread and size that you have, we have 2 in town and they have every single nut and bolt available

Hello Bill package has been mailed .It will arrive on Thursday Dec. 31st  2 axle nuts.

What's your email address I'll send you the tracking #

thanks Greg

Hey Bill I P Messaged you the tracking. #

Check on www.oldbike.eu. Cycle brakes..1898..A new depatture..The ND model A was released in 1898..

If I were you, I would go on The Cabe website in the pre-1933 section, there is a sticky devoted, since 2012, entirely on the New Departure and Corbin hub dating, do your research there!!!!

I would rather trust an american website, run by americans about an american made hub with 35 pages and going, than a British (european) website claiming to be a "museum", with a 3/4 page write-up

I have dealt personnally with the owner of that website in the past, and he is far more of a business man than a museum curator.

Just looking at the "american bicycle section" of the museum is pretty pathetic.

And why would a bicycle museum sell their bicycles online? Just read the section: Why buy a bike from the online bicycle museum"

Last time I checked a museum is not in the business of selling their collection, just try buying a bike from the Canada Science nd Technology Museum and see what they tell you.

Just putting forward an alternate opinion..I had read the Cabe version in the past.

an opinion would come from someone that was actually alive in 1898, but since I don't think we have anyone here that was alive back then, I would rather deal with facts, documentation and research.

And is it your opinion also, Wayne, that the ND model A was released in 1898?

Opinions are more than welcome on this site, particularly those that are well-informed as Wayne's are. Anyone looking to eliminate such will have to look elsewhere. 'Nuff said.

John

I think most Museums are a money lossing battle without goverment money, unless the owner has loads of it. Just my take on it .

Happy new Year to all

will do John, tks
