Glad I found this site, I recently acquired for free a 1961 CCM child's size bike and I'm excited to bring it back to life, it even has licence decals from 1963/64 New Westminster BC !
I live on Central Vancouver Island and would like to hear from any local members and others in BC to share repair ideas.
Thanks !
Ian
I'm a retired guy who is into vintage bikes bigtime for the last 20 years or so. I'm especially fond of 1960's through 1980's bikes of most types. My very first refurb bike was a 1971 Schwinn Collegiate but it was too small for me so it went away. Since that time, I've refurbed almost 100 bikes......and still have 6 or 8 in stock. I have 2 daily riders: 1981 Schwinn Le Tour Tourist 10 speed by Panasonic; 1984 Miyata Semi-Pro 710, a "red rocket" 12 speed. Both of these bikes are similar......but very different in "riding feel". The Miyata (and other Miyatas I've had) are VERY nice high-quality bikes IMO. I'll be posting in another thread about my latest acquisition which I believe to be a disguised CCM and that's the reason I'm here.......aside from the fact that a good buddy of mine has a single car garage full of 70's and 80's CCMs. He just never seems to finish a project though. LOLOL
Im in Victoria and have half dozen or so ccms ranging from 1900 to early 40s. Ive also got extra hard parts like bb, cranks and hubs if you find yourself in need
