that is the nicest CCM BMX I have ever seen Dale   ;)

The subject bicycle is a post bankruptrcy,  CCM CX-70, manufactured by Velo Sport. of Quebec. When Velo Sport took over the brand in 1983, they divided the BMX bicycles into two lines, the premium Breaker line of four modesls and the standard Radical line of 8 models. The CX-70 was the 5th from the top of the Radical line and the most expensive model equipped with a coaster brake. More expensive Radical models and all Breaker modesl used caliper brakes.

Your sample looks almost identical to the 1983, catalogued version. I can only note four discrepancies. First, the catalogued version uses a stem with a red top cap, that is colour matched to the the chainguard and seat post collar. Second, the down tube decal has the accent fade at the opposite end of the decal. Third, the pedals appear to be black resin versions, as opposed to your steel pedals. Finally, all the reflectors are removed (or never were installed. You may be able to tell which is the case by closely examining the reflector mounting tabs on the rims). Given the almost exact match to the 1983 literature, it is probably no more than a year or two removed, so I'd say circa 1983-1985. We may be able to narrow that down via the serial number.

Thanks Tmar. I truly appreciate the information

I'd apprerciate the serial number for my database. TIA.

thanks again ,just

unpaked

Thxs. This should help to eventually crack the code, provided I can collect some more serial numbers. Right now, there are few different ways it could be coded, but I'm still leaning towards it being a 1983 or 1984.
