Old ccm crank and bearing help
Hi all. Found an old ccm and its really rough. Frame is solid and fenders are decent. Just really rusty. What i wanna do is upgrade crank assembly since it doesnt have one. Been stripped i guess years ago.. so question how do i know what crank and bearings to use? Its not threaded on either end. The pipe that takes bearings is 2.5 inches in length and the id is 1.5. Thats all i know so far. So am lookin for assistance. Thanks. See pic for reference.
Where are located Ihave a one piece crank assembly that would work

Hi Mike
Greg is right, I do have all the crank parts you need, and many other parts that might make things easier for you, such as good Motorbike style frames, fenders, etc. that are not rusted. I even have some complete bikes that would not be that expensive. Howver, I live in Edmoton, which is at least 180 km. from Castor. You can email me at jdwillia@telus.net if you are interested.

Would anyone know an approximate year on this old girl?? I posted some pics in the hello forum.
Here is number i found!
This is the type of bottom bracket axle you would need to fit a cottered crank to an early CCM large diameter bottom bracket. Note that the axle has threaded cones on it since the cups on the early bottom bracket are just pressed in.
Any idea of part numbers i could search for? Or bike style they came from? Thanks
Part numbers will not help you. I think that these axle was used on some early 1960's CCM 3-speeds. The best thing for you to do is to ask me to mail this to you instead of going on a "wild goose chase"
Lol. I love the hunt. So for this part you have where can i get new bearings for it?
I have the bearings, all you have to do is ask. I should have everything. What exactly do you want? You will neet cottered crank arms, cotter pins, and pedals. Do you have any experience fitting cotter pins? I am not sure why you want to upgrade the crank unless you want to mike the old bike into a 27 speed bike.
Here is a page from a CCM Parts Catalogue that shows the complete crank. The crank that you want is on the bottom of the page.
