Could someone please confirm that my 1942 CCM Rambler uses 9/16 pedals. I took a wrench and that size fits but would like to know for sure since I’m looking for pedals. Thank you!
Hi Wayne. Pedal size is not in reference to the wrench size used to unscrew them but the size of the threaded end. Bikes with cottered cranks usually take 9/16 threaded end while one-piece cranks like yours usually (always??) use 1/2" Why? I have no idea.

You are correct it’s 1/2” too bad I have a set of 9/16” on the way...live and learn...
Depending on what the pedals are that you have on the way, you may be able to swap the 9/16" axles for some 1/2" ones.
