SCP
Hi
I have just found this forum and it is of personal interest to me as my Dad(Ed Hughes)worked for 30 years for SCP. He started out around 1932 at $0.25 and gradually worked his way to foreman. my Dad was a motorcycle rider and racer. He went with the company because they had plans to make motorcycles.I remember my Dad taking me to the plant in the late 50s in the summer when I was off school. The plant in those days was located at 600 Victoria Park Ave but I believe the first plant was around Carlaw and Dundas.
My Dad died in 2003. He was an excellent bicycle man. He could true a wheel in seconds but he never got over the closing of SCP which occurred in 1961. If anyone is interested I have some taps which would be of use to the vintage crowd.

Hi Blain: Please contact me at bmwchev@msn.com . I have three SCPs, a pair of baloons and a 60s 3 speed .see ..http://s917.photobucket.com/albums/ad20/dobie45/SCPs%20%20-%20STANDARD%20CYCLE%20PRODUCTS%20TORONTO/
I have been trying to get some factual info on SCP and its relationship with CCM for a number of years, but there isn't much out there. This may be an opportunity to garner some first hand info. I would be grateful if you could permit access to the tapes and any other info you may have. I would be able to collate it and put forward a public domain research essay based on your info and that scanty info I have acquired.
Also, if any others out there have other info WRT SCP, I would appreciate you contacting me
