Anyone know how to stop a 37 hub from squeaking? I've completely overhauled it with new grease and have put a few drops of oil in the oiling port but it still squeals like crazy just near the end of braking.

Wayne the brass brake sleeve could be worn and warrants replacement. I have also been told that when replacing sleeve you should also replace the wedges because all these parts wear together.

Wayne is the braking okay other than the squeaking. If so then Greg's theory would work as I have never had a CCM37 hub squeak when braking and I have a few in service.
Greg I have never honed the surface of a shell but that totally makes sense to get rid of the glazing.
Thanks for the great insight. I have been in the hobby for about 20+ years and a guy is always learning a trick or two which is why I enjoy putting the old bicycles back on the road. Thanks again I will definitely try that.
Hello Lou I have had some Hercules. Hubs that didn't stop very good but after doing the hone and using petroleum based grease the stopping was amazing.I stay away from synthetic grease and adding any oil on rear drum coaster hubs .
The brake locks up fine but screams like crazy when you brake at a slow pace. Do they make cylinder hones you can put in a drill? I'll check Canadian Tire.
thanks for the tips.... I'll do that to all my hubs now!
Try some medium sand paper on the brass brake surfaces.

Hello Wayne resurface the hub to deglaze it.
Use a 3 - arm brake cyclinder hone and get the shiney surface gone.
I always hone out a hub when servicing it.
Thanks Greg
