Sunshine bicycles

Received the following note:

I just worked on an old sunshine bike and am curious if the serial number I found on it can be traced to a production year etc. The number is 024535 if it means anything. I'm not sure of it's an original number or some sort of bike registry number. This bike is in beautiful condition but needs a little TLC which I'll be giving it. I'm planning to restore it for the owner as he's a good friend of mine so any information of parts etc. would be greatly appreciated. Kevin

Hi Guys, 

I recently purchased a Sunshine Waterloo.  Serial # 004736, located by the seat tube just below the seat clamp.  Any date info would be greatly appreciated.  I'm assuming it's late forties, or early 50's.  No pictures yet, it's unassembled for rebuilding.

I also posted on the "wanted to buy" forum for a Sunshine headbadge.  Sadly, mine is missing.  No response yet.  Anyone reading this have one?  Thanks in advance!  Cheers, Jamie.
